Conscience Stops You From Being Bad, but What Stops You From Being Good?
Why you struggle to do the things you want to do

When we hear ‘Where’s your conscience?’, we deduce that someone has done something bad, something despicable, something inhumane.
Because that’s what conscience does right? It stops us from doing bad.
It doesn’t stop the negative thought from popping up, but it’s meant to stop the negative idea from taking root and developing to the extent of being acted on. Our conscience says things like —
‘Think of your mother’
‘Think of the future’
‘You won’t look good in an orange jumpsuit’
Our conscience will say anything that will penetrate and demolish the thought of doing bad. Yaeee, go conscience.
But, what prevents us from doing good?
Why we don’t do good
What prevents us from doing good? Ever wondered that?
Or do you think you just do good things whenever the thought comes into your head? If that were the case, the world would be a utopia.
No, there’s a force that stops you from doing good. It’s just that no one ever told you about it before. It’s called resistance and this is how it speaks.
‘You can’t do that, no one will listen to you’
‘Really? That outfit? You can’t pull that off.’
‘Everyone will laugh at you’
‘You are ugly, you are broke, you are both ugly and broke’
‘Just quit, no one will read your articles’
‘You can do it later’ ‘And later’ ‘And later’
‘It doesn’t look as good as Mr Beast’s video. No one is going to watch it.’
‘That’s too scary. You’re just one person. Don’t say anything. Keep quiet’
Hello resistance, in the form of; self-doubt, criticism, procrastination, fear, limiting beliefs, perfectionism, and laziness.
And the examples I mentioned above are just forms of internal resistance.
